Free audio tour for historic Kinneil Estate in Bo’ness

History fans can now enjoy a free audio tour of Kinneil Estate in Bo’ness.

The park is dominated by Kinneil House, an imposing mansion dating back to the 16th century. There is also a museum, a cottage workshop used by the inventor James Watt, and the remnants of a medieval church and Roman fortlet.

Visitors can find out more about the park by downloading the free izi.TRAVEL app from the Google Play Store or the iOS App Store and searching for “Kinneil” to get the free guide.

Adrian Mahoney, the boss of The PR Store consultancy, narrates the guide. In his spare time he volunteers as a guide with the charity The Friends of Kinneil.

He said: “The app allows you to access a free audio guide on your own phone. The guide will start playing information on particular attractions as you reach them – so there’s no need to type in numbers or scan codes.

“The app also includes a map of the walking route and pictures of the attractions you’ll see on the way. The Kinneil tour starts from outside Kinneil Museum. Simply head to the museum, open the izi app and then start the Kinneil guide. I hope people enjoy it.”

You can see a version of the guide on the izi website.

The PR Store produces a range of audio content to help clients, creating podcasts and sound and video clips for websites and social media.
