Can you help preserve some Bo’ness mining heritage?
A charity project is looking for people to talk about the town’s Kinneil Colliery and its final days.
A researcher from The PR Store will record audio interviews with local people and these might be used in interpretation/audio points/installations on the Kinneil foreshore (or used online).
In particular the project – backed by the charity Sustrans – wants to speak to:
- a former miner at Kinneil about his working life at the pit;
- a member of a mining family – talking about life growing up and living in Bo’ness as a mining town (this could be a partner or child of a miner);
- anyone who worked on creating/remembering the mining tunnel under the Forth; and
- someone who took part in the strikes before the closure of Kinneil Colliery.
