The year 2019 marked the 200th anniversary of the death of Scottish inventor James Watt and the 250th anniversary of his patent to improve the steam engine. Heritage and engineering partners across Scotland – including Historic Environment Scotland – joined forces to celebrate Watt’s legacy.
Adrian Mahoney from The PR Store was commissioned to build the Watt celebratory website and develop content for the site, including audio and video interviews, news stories and event listings.
The PR Store also project managed a final celebratory event, held at the Hippodrome Cinema in Bo’ness, to round off the special year of activity.
The Story of Hope
We developed this microsite to promote a new book by author Katherine Elizabeth James. The PR Store worked with Katherine’s consultancy, Copy That Sells, to build the one-page website to highlight the new book, give information about the author and link to online sellers. As an additional service we also provided some PR support for the book launch.
The site was built in WordPress using photography, text, graphics and video supplied by Katherine.
Bo’mains Farm B&B
We helped this bed and breakfast set up a new mobile-friendly website, replacing an out-of-date HTML site. The site includes new photography and links to local attractions.
Nether Kinneil Farmhouse
Nether Kinneil Farmhouse, offering accommodation on the outskirts of Bo’ness, was expanding its services to offer a new self-catering apartment and a rehearsal/recording studio.
The PR Store developed a new website and also promoted the expanded services to the local media, resulting in front-page publicity.
Gina Young from Nether Kinneil said: “Adrian Mahoney of The PR Store was very knowledgeable, professional and easy to work with . . . . I am delighted with the end result and would certainly recommend his company.”
