SCOTTISH Secretary Alistair Darling is set to officially open the new offices of Dunedin Canmore Housing Association tomorrow (Wednesday, August 24).
The headquarters, at New Mart Road, is part of the multi-million pound Quadrant development next to Edinburgh’s historic Corn Exchange. Mr Darling is the local MP for the area.
Association chief executive Ewan Fraser said: “The new headquarters provides a home for around 100 of our staff, who were previously based in a number of smaller offices around the city. By bringing people together under one roof, we’ve trying to improve communication between departments – and provide an even better service for our residents.”
Dunedin Canmore Housing Association manages nearly 4000 homes around Edinburgh, West Lothian and Fife.
The Association was formed as a result of the merger of Dunedin Housing Association and Canmore Housing Association earlier this year. The new group is a Scottish charity and operates on a not-for-profit basis.
