Van-tastic! Ogilvie drives to success in new vehicles

PhotobucketOGILVIE Construction has just taken delivery of 30 new Ford Transit vans.

“It’s part of our commitment to invest in plant and machinery to deliver the very best for our customers,” said managing director Phil McEwan.

“During this downturn, some companies are cutting back on renewing vehicles and other essential equipment to do the job. We think this can be a false economy.”

The new vans will replace existing Ford Transits in the Ogilvie Construction fleet – which totals 200 vehicles.

The vans were supplied on a contract hire basis via sister company, Ogilvie Fleet.

“Part of our strength is that we’re part of a group of companies that includes construction, house-building, land surveying, telecommunications and fleet management,” said Mr McEwan. “This support helps us to offer outstanding levels of service and support for clients.”

He added: “It’s great to see the new vehicles hit the road. The fact that we’re replacing older Transits with new Fords shows our commitment to the brand. We’re confident that these new vehicles will deliver the kind of performance we need to get the job done.”

Ogilvie Construction, part of the Ogilvie Group, is one of the leading building firms in Scotland.

The privately-owned business has its head office in Stirling, employs more than 400 people and has an annual turnover of around £100 million. It works throughout Scotland and the North of England.

The company is currently working on a number of high-profile projects including a new civic building for West Lothian Council and a revamp of the famous Time Capsule leisure centre in Coatbridge. The company also recently completed a refurbishment of the five-star Sheraton Grand Hotel and Spa in Edinburgh.
